These types of Upholstery fabrics generally require dry cleaning. Never attempt to clean a spot using water. Water could cause yellowing, brown water rings and color run.
Heavily soiled dry cleanable fabrics may require a combination method called Dry-Wet/Dry-Wet, which is more of a restorative cleaning process.

Synthetic or Man Made Fabrics-Generally can be wet cleaned unless fabric is a blend of synthetic & natural fibers that may require dry cleaning.
The very same principles that apply to cleaning of clothing applies to upholstered furniture cleaning. As you know, some clothing items can be washed in the washing machine and others may require a dry cleaner's services. Have you ever accidentally washed a wool sweater in the washing machine? More than likely the end result was a mini-me size sweater.
The manufacturer will often place a label with cleaning instructions somewhere on the upholstered piece of furniture. Usually located on the base of the piece of upholstery.

Fabric Protector: Once your upholstered furniture has been completely cleaned we recommend protection. We can apply Scotch Guard Protection or Dupont Teflon. Both protectors will add a barrier that will help repel stains and spills and keep them from penetrating the fabric. This allows you time to blot the spill using a clean, dry cloth before a permanent staining occurs.
Never attempt to clean your upholstered furniture unless you know what type of cleaning product the fabric requires. The manufacturer may suggest a cleaning method on a label located on the base of the piece. the industry standards include the following
1. "Using a mild water free solvent" or "S" means that the fabric is dry cleanable and you should not attempt to spot clean using water.
2. "Using a mild water based cleaning product" or "W" means that the piece can be wet cleaned.
3. "Vacuum only" means that the fabric is so sensitive that it cannot be cleaned using conventional cleaning methods. This type of fabric is extremely rare.
